A LATE BLOOMER...in my thirties, I graduated from The
Ohio State University. In my sixties, I published my first book
Happiness Junkie, followed by Married to a Vegan, then Home Coming, a poetic romp into the pandemic, politics, and personal hurricanes. Who doesn’t love a good poetic romp?
My newest book, The Storyteller – Keeping Family Lore Alive, captures the stories once kept by my mother, now gone. A series of poems and essays reveal the humanity and humor of my family's sometimes storied past, likely not that different from your own.
People describe my writing as honest, insightful, and humorous.
It can tug on your heart and make you laugh at the same time.

Bold and unapologetic, like your favorite aunt who just doesn't care what others think anymore...she says it like it is and you both expect it and delight in it. Home Coming is a welcome, artful pause in the ordinary…and a vivid exploration of our current unbeckoned, collective extraordinary. Albers shares a truly reverent treatment of the irreverent, reminding readers of the absolute certainty of the one constant right now…absolute uncertainty. All these things with shock, awe, and raw honesty....
